major meetings

so, the past two weekends we had major meetings of the chen family cousins. i shall define a major meeting as any time cousins from four or more families get to together.

two weekends ago, alice chen, linda, and i went to see jeff's graduation. i think we all fell asleep during the speakers, which was a good thing since we were up late the night before creating our family tree. we didn't get a cousins only picture, so i had to do a bit of cropping to get this:

so jeff graduated! yay!

this past weekend, we all went to SF to see alice chen, since she will soon be leaving the united states for beijing. and by chance, michael just happened to have recently moved to the bay area; so we got four cousins together for the second weekend in a row. we went wine tasting in napa and got a nice picture at opus one, a winery.

the wine was nice, but a bit too pricey... so much so that some patrons tried stealing the wine glasses. here's the security guard stopping the ladies:

luckily, the guard was able to secure the wine glasses and return them to the hostess who was running and chasing after the pilferous ladies.

jeff and i tried some of the grapes, but they were quite sour.

afterwards... we had a nice dinner at hopr. i miss hopr.

is this some kind of record? two major chen family meetings in two different cities in consecutive weekends?
